Kate woke that Sunday morning feeling groggy and hungover, but didn't remember drinking the night before. She rose from her bed and draped her feet toward the floor, where she could almost reach it with her toes. At sixteen, Kate had all the normal problems of a typical suburban teenage girl: Her clothes, her friends, boys, weight and everything else superficial.
